Virtual Pictures Corp, commonly known as VPiX®, is an American multinational company specializing in on-site 3D capture services and the leading provider of DIY augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) software. The company is headquartered in Monument, Colorado, and is known for its on-demand AR/VR Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms. These platforms cater to a diverse clientele, including automobile dealers, businesses, colleges, hotels, law enforcement agencies, military organizations, real estate brokers, RV dealers, VRBO property managers, and yacht brokers. The company's roots trace back to its founder, Bart Wilson, who previously held notable positions at Qualex/Eastman Kodak, and another entrepreneur – a QuickTime product manager from Apple Computer. Initially launched as Voyager 360, the venture skyrocketed to become the world's first DIY platform targeting the real estate market, picking up lucrative VR capture contracts from Wyndham Extra Holidays, Sheraton Hotels, and the FBI. Following the real estate market downturn in 2009, the assets of Voyager were acquired by Virtual Pictures Corp, resulting in the rebranding to VPiX®. In the years following, VPiX® diversified its offerings. 2009 saw the inception of the MotorStreet® division, marking the company's entry into the automotive sector with its custom car photo studio powered by Carousel USA's vehicle turntable. This initiative swiftly gained traction, cementing MotorStreet® as the leading custom car photo studio globally. By 2012, VPiX® had expanded its product suite to include CSI360, a dedicated AR/VR SaaS platform tailored for military and law enforcement agencies to reconstruct crime scenes. As of August 2023, VPiX® continues to operate as a privately-held entity, boasting an international presence with field offices in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, South Carolina, South Africa, and Morocco. Despite having a lean team, VPiX's business relationships are extensive, working with industry giants like Amazon, Apple Computer, Choice Hotels, SAP, PBS, and Ticketmaster/Live Nation. Notably, VPiX® has been recognized for its contributions and performance, earning the title of the 214th Best Company in America by Entrepreneur Magazine.
